Coming Out Announcement Scaffold & Supporter Cards

Hand holding a phone showing a blank announcement frame — a card that is yours to write, its writing area waiting empty — in a warm, sunlit room

The suite, as it arrives — cover first, then the cards in the order you will send them, announcement to thank-you. Tap any card to read it at full size.

Some announcements should only ever be written by one person: the person living them.

So this set is built in two parts, kept clearly separate — because they do different jobs, and mixing them up would get the most important thing wrong.

Part one — Supporter cards (templated, ready to send)

For the people who get to celebrate someone who is already out to them. These cards are finished designs with warm, written wording — because "I am proud of you" and "congratulations on your name" are sentences a supporter can borrow.

These cards are only for news you have been told directly. The guide is firm about this, and so are we: a supporter card never travels further than the person allowed it to.

Part two — The announcement scaffold (a frame and a plan, never a script)

For the person themselves. There is no sample announcement text in this part, and there never will be — the wording of a coming-out announcement is written by the person it belongs to, always. What we provide is everything around the words:

Nothing in this set encourages you to share anything before you are ready, or more widely than you want. Private is a complete choice. So is waiting. So is telling three people and stopping there.

The details sheet

Write it once. Check it here. Never from memory.

Every name and date goes on this sheet first, in letter boxes, with the weekday checked against the date — before a single card is built. Precision is a form of love, so we made it part of the suite.

Questions, answered plainly

Why is the announcement frame blank?

Because coming out is the one announcement whose words must belong entirely to the person making it. A frame gives the moment its beauty and its weight; the sentence inside it is yours alone — in your order, at your pace, as much or as little as you want to say.

I want to support someone who just came out to me. Which part is for me?

Part one — the supporter cards. Say it warmly, say it soon, and then let them lead: they decide how far the news travels.

Can I send a supporter card about someone to other people?

No — and the guide is explicit about why. A supporter card celebrates news between you and the person who trusted you with it. Sharing it wider, however kindly meant, can out someone before they are ready. When in doubt, send it only to them.

I'm not ready to tell everyone. Is this still for me?

Especially for you. The planning guide is built around tiers and timing: closest people first, wider circles later — or never. Many people use the frame for a handful of people and stop there. That is a complete, successful use of this set.

Does the frame work for a name or pronoun announcement?

Yes. The details sheet and frame were designed for exactly that: your name as you live by it, your pronouns as you state them, letter by letter, so nothing about you is ever spelled by guesswork.

Is anything mailed to me?

No. This is a digital download.
